INFORMATION SESSIONS
Through our James Campaign we seek to bring awareness through information sessions, conferences, social media and other various events. We seek to inform the community of current stats, processes, and options available to those interested in supporting the plight of children without forever homes or coming alongside the families in their own communities who have opened their homes to children.
Our information sessions are ideal for church groups, charitable organizations, orphan ministries, youth and young adult groups, high schools, universities, conferences and webinars. If you would like to book an information session please fill out the contact form and let's get in touch.
Upcoming Info Sessions:
In the spring of 2026 we will be hosting a series of virtual and in-person information sessions exploring the topic of how to support vulnerable kids through mentoring, relationship building and respite caregiving.
The goal of these information sessions in to reach the unengaged people who exist on the margins of the friend networks of those who are journeying foster care and adoption. We want to offer an opportunity for these individuals to be invited to join in and gain a deeper understanding of the kids and families that they already have a connection to without any obligation or pressure to have to sign up or commit to a support role.
Our information sessions will explore some of the following topics:
-
The reasons why kids really end up in government care
-
Types of child care arrangements in Canada (adoption, foster care, kinship etc.)
-
What kinds of support are actually provided to kids and families
-
What are the needs/gaps in support?
-
-
What are respite & mentoring?
-
Different types of relationships
-
What is required?
-
What is the pay?
-
-
Why is it hard for families to get respite care/support?
-
Q & A with foster/adoptive parents
-
What do you need to do to be able to provide respite care, mentorship or support a family?

Following the information sessions we will then be offering some 1-day respite caregiver training events for those who are interested in becoming more confident and capable helpers.

The
Impact of
Intentional Engagement
Ordinary people can make a pretty extraordinary impact in the life of a child or youth navigating foster care or adoption.
You don't have to be a professional.
You need to care. They need to know that they matter to someone.
